  • Connect individually and in groups with potential future students. Participate through college presentations, question and answer, portfolio development, workshops, and college informational tables. Provide students resources and information necessary to choose and apply to your school.

Leadership Day


Join us! 

Saturday November 11, 2017 

at South High School 

from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM 

for the first annual

National Art Honor Society Leadership Day

 sponsored by the 

Colorado Art Education Association.


***Our mission is to connect Colorado’s high school art students with Colorado’s college and university art programs as they prepare for careers in creative industries.***

***Funds collected will be disbursed toward event expenses, facility and materials fees,  student scholarships, and teacher professional development opportunities.***

The breakout format is organized for colleges to participate in three consecutive sessions in two blocks.

Block 1 9:35 AM - 11:45 AM

Block 2 12:50 PM - 3:00 PM

1. Presentations about Building Portfolios and Works for Application Process

            These sessions will be scheduled for 30 minutes and give you the opportunity to share important information about what your university looks for in the preparation of an art portfolio.

2. College Presentations and Q&A

            These sessions will be scheduled for 30 minutes and give you the opportunity to share important information about your school, admissions requirements, application process, specific art department programs and information, and what makes student life unique at your school.

3.  Workshop

Teach hands-on workshops in a particular chosen media. Hands on art making time can be used for further Q & A and individually connecting with students.

Open Information Tables

            Information tables should be manned throughout the day. Students will have time to visit tables during the lunch hour. Tables should provide students any information you feel is necessary for student education and recruitment.
